چکیده
Abstract Background Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD) in patients receiving a lung transplant has been associated with worsened graft function and decreased survival. This analysis aimed to identify whether fundoplication following can improve overall Methods undergoing transplantation between January 1993 2020 were included. Data on oesophageal pH, manometry testing, post-transplant testing survival collected. Cox-regression was used analyse associations pH Results Of 345 who underwent transplant, 20 also received fundoplication. 84 oesopageal testing. Abnormal recorded 41 patients. Average Demeester score 28.45 for not 37.28 those pre-operative time 8.6% 10.3% fundoplications, 4 carried out within 1 year of 12 2 years. patient had post-operative complication 13 positive response fundoplication, defined as less than 10% decrease FEV1 at Receiving better (p = 0.024) total <7% 0.21). Conclusions Fundoplication is safe operation after good outcomes. cox-regression analysis.

Pregnancy following a single lung transplant.
Successful pregnancy in a single lung transplant recipient has not been reported previously. The long term effect of pregnancy on graft function and management of deteriorating pulmonary function is not defined. This case describes the management, outcome, and problems encountered when a single lung transplant recipient developed a progressive deterioration in pulmonary function during pregnanc...

Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) represents the most common viral complication affecting solid organ transplant recipients (SOTRs) and its management is still debated. This study analyzes the association between HCMV infection and renal transplant recipients' outcomes. From January 2008 through December 2009, 97 consecutive renal transplant recipients were retrospectively studied. HCMV disease prev...
متن کاملSimultaneous Fundoplication and Gastric Stimulation in a Lung Transplant Recipient With Gastroparesis and Reflux
BACKGROUND Gastroparesis following lung transplantation can complicate medical management leading to malnutrition, weight loss, and erratic absorption of immunosuppressive medications, which are all important factors in the success of grafts. Gastric electrical stimulation has been shown to reduce the frequency of nausea and vomiting and lead to weight gain in patients with gastroparesis refrac...
متن کاملBronchiolitis Obliterans Syndrome (BOS) Following Lung Transplant.
The main change seen with BOS is scarring of the small airways of transplanted lung(s). This scarring leads to narrowing of the airways, limiting airflow with loss of lung function. Early after the onset of BOS, a person may not have any symptoms, but will develop breathlessness and chronic cough as BOS gets worse. There are different stages of BOS based on lung function results. Some people de...
